Revival Intro

Man’s Dictionary defines the word “Revival,” this way:

  1. The act or an instance of reviving.
  2. The condition of being revived.
  3. A restoration to use, acceptance, activity, or vigor after a period of obscurity or quiescence.
  4. A new presentation of an old play, movie, opera, ballet, or similar vehicle.
  5. A time of reawakened interest in religion.
  6. A meeting or series of meetings for the purpose of reawakening religious faith, often characterized by impassioned preaching and public testimony.

What does God’s Word say about “Revival?”

God’s Holy Word, the Bible, describes the word, “Revival” into two areas, and they are:

  • CONDITIONS FOR REVIVAL AND
  • COMPLETE SURRENDER

In order for us to address God’s description of the word Revival, we must first look at how man has distorted it, and then we will see it clearly, as shown above.  Man ran out of excuses, and finally in their meager attempt to define it correctly, they came close with their 5th definition, but the 6th one is the very best they could do to explain the way it sometimes happens.  No matter what man says or does, God’s Word is always the final say in all things. Why?  Because without Him there would be no existence whatsoever; so, to God be all of the glory and honor as we attempt to show you God’s feelings about this very important word.

The Bible defines Revival as a period of unusual blessing and activity in the life of the Christian church which is caused through His Holy Spirit.
